Price Paid:  $40.00

Bike Setup:
Norco CCX

Summary:
This is a very poor product. I recieved my cyclocross bike in June '07, by Oct '07 the BB was completely destroyed. I had only put on about 1000km. I purchased another BB and it lasted 2 races and 2 training rides and now it's starting to get rough again. I will have to replace my crankset I guess in order to get a good BB? I have never seen product this poor!

Strengths:
Nice gold finish...

Weaknesses:
Bearings (I guess seals really) wear out in 2-4hours of Cyclocross racing/training

Similar Products Used:
Shimano XTR, Shimano 105

Favorite Ride:

Summary:
This BB came on my 2007 Specialized Roubaix Expert and after 6 months and 3100 miles it started to make some loud rattling noises. To make a long story short, the bearings were wasted due to poor seals on the BB. The best thing you can do is throw the piece of junk FSA in the trash and go purchase a Dura Ace BB.

Strengths:
none

Weaknesses:
short bearing life, poor seals

Price Paid:  $50.00 at City Bikes

Favorite Ride:
Sutter Creek

Bike Setup:
Specialized Roubaix Pro with full Record Campy and Mavic Kserium wheels

Summary:
Bought the Megaexo Compact Crank with the Mega bottom bracket. I rode it for 4 months and it started to make noises. Then it started to loosen up. Went and bought the cramic version, the same thing happened again. Then I went back to the normal version, 3rd one in 9 months, what a piece of crap. I went down and talked to a friend that is a mechanic and he said that they FSA's seals on the BB's are awful What a waste of money!! Just went and bought a Campy Ultra Torque Compact, should have done that to start with. IT will now match the CT Campy front derailleur I had to buy becasue FSA's compact front derailleur was garbage.

Strengths:
NONE

Weaknesses:
You name it!

Price Paid:  $230.00 at Pecco's Veloes, Hull

Favorite Ride:
Gatineau Park

Bike Setup:
Cervélo soloist Carbon

Summary:
Bearings in Bottom bracket are completely done after only 3000 km. I never had such a problem with cheaper bottom bracket. It is TOTAL crap. NEVER buy that.

I'll try ceramic bearings although I do not fully trust FSA products anymore. I hope not to be disappointed and deceived by the hype...

Strengths:
None

Weaknesses:
Not durable at all.

Price Paid:  $1300.00 at McCully bike

Favorite Ride:
guru flite

Bike Setup:
guru flite-shimano ultegra/105

Summary:
This bottom bracket was pretty nice at first. About 6 months afer I bought the bike though, it started making funny noises. About another six months go buy and the drive side bearing had siezed completely. Looked kinda rusty too. FSA needs to improve waterproofing of thier bearings. A half dozen times being caught in the rain and the bottom bracket is dead. That is crap. Never had a bottom bracket failure in 20+ years of riding bmx/mountain/road. Next time I'm going shimano

Strengths:
?

Weaknesses:
not suited for "real world" conditions
