Price Paid:  $399.00

Favorite Ride:
Lucas Valley to Marshall

Summary:
I've had nothing but trouble with these wheels.

First, the rear wheel squeaked out of the box. I thought maybe it was the skewer so I replaced it. The noise was still there. I eventually took it to the local shop and they had to rebuild the hub - it was dry inside. Paid $35.

Second, I have been losing spokes every 4-6 rides or so. I am San Francisco Bay Area and the roads are good enough and I weigh 160lbs. Every spoke replacement is $25.

A couple of weeks ago, when I lost another spoke during a ride, I took the wheel to the shop again. The owner pointed at significant cracks in the rim around a few of the nipples. He said I was lucky the wheel didn’t collapse on me.

Can it get any worse?

Strengths:
looks cool

Weaknesses:
poor quality!!

Price Paid:  $500.00 at Bike Pro

Favorite Ride:
Great ocean Road

Bike Setup:
Trek 1500 with Ultegra group set used with these wheels, now riding a Trek 5.2 Madone.

Summary:
Great wheels for the first eight months. Light and fast and roll very well. CVracks in the rear rim put an end to my satisfaction for these wheels. Before the rim cracked, these were the best wheels I had used, but the shop I purchased them from tells me they are no longer sold in Australia, so unfortunately I'm left with a rear wheel which is of absolutely no use to me and a warranty that won't be honoured.

Strengths:
Light, fast, roll really well, great value for money until the rim cracked.

Weaknesses:
Durability. Less than 12 months for a wheel I was only probably using twice a week is just not good enough.

Price Paid:  $315.00 at LBS

Favorite Ride:
HWY 46 from HWY 1 to 101

Bike Setup:
2003 Giant TCR

Summary:
Wheels have been great so far. No issues. Bearings are smooth as silk--you really notice it up front; without the freewheel, the front spins for days. Semi-aero rim profile, bladed spokes. I like the look, the feel, the price. They are not self-propelled, but do a good job.

I'm not too big, 165 pounds, so wheels have held up well. I've trued my front once and my rear about 5 times--but then again i'm anal and like a straight-as-chite rim.

Strengths:
Value
Stock steel bearings roll forever.

Weaknesses:
Some say stickers--I like the stickers.
Some say tire mounting--Serfas Seca RS go on easy, Serfas Seca Comp go on with no levers.

Price Paid:  $349.00 at neuvation website

Favorite Ride:
Handcock Horizontal 100

Bike Setup:
Bianchi Ti Aero Frame, dura ace triple group

Summary:
I bought these wheels to replace my old wheels after a crash. I needed 5 months to recover and in that time I went from 175 to 220lbs. At first the wheels were noise free, but when I went to a much lower pressure tire I started hearing a pinging noise. I found it was coming from were the spokes crossed.I sprayed a little teflon on the intersections and the noise has gone away. I'm sure it was a combination of my out of shape weight and the lower pressure tires. since dropping the weight the wheels have been great. The wheels ride stiff and smooth.

Strengths:
Great price for the weight. They roll really well. Solid ride and predictable cornering.

Weaknesses:
max weight is really more like 190 lbs for these wheels, and as far as the stickers go-ugly is the new in!

Favorite Ride:
Party Pardee 60k

Bike Setup:
Shimano Allez Comp (steel); full Ultegra components, Salsa scandium stem; Look pedals; Selle San Marco Arami Gel Around saddle; Vittoria Zaffiro Pro tires

Summary:
This is a review for the R28 Aero-3's.

3 words about this wheelset compared to the stock Shimano WH-R540 wheelset I was using before: lighter, stiffer, faster. I am blown away at how big of an improvement these wheels made. Even though it's a stiffer feeling wheel, it rides a lot smoother. I really like these wheels!!! I didn't experience any of the difficulties mounting my Vittoria tires that others reported. For the money, I can't imagine a better overall set of wheels.

Strengths:
Lightweight, stiff, roll fast, roll smooth, looks, quality, customer service from Neuvation

Weaknesses:
none so far
