Description With 20 functional vents actively channeling airflow over the head and out the rear, a feathery curb weight and a bevy of top-level features, the new Sweep R has moved to the front of the pro peloton....
Summary: I've used an older Bell for the past 2 years and thought that waw as good as it got. Sweat used to constantly drip onto my glasses to the point that I used a panty liner in the front of my helmet (don't laugh it works). WOW ! What a differencelightweight. Super fit. And not a drop of sweat got into my glasses (100 degree heat). I nearly bought a Louis Garneau because of price and looks but the fit was terrible for me. The Bells system that snugs under the back of your skull is super comfy and secure
Strengths: Lightweight. Airflow. Fit
Weaknesses: There are cheaper helmets out there. But like they say, "if you have a $20.00 head......"

Bike Setup: Van nicholas zephyr, ultegra, easton forks, kysrium elite, thomson masterpiece, ritchey wcs stem, pro bars, panaracer stradius elite lite.
Summary: Very nice helmet. It's very light and airy, to such a degree that occasionally I've had to reach up to actually check that I'm wearing it.
No problems with fitting and the dial system at the back makes it very easy to adjust should I wear a cap under my helmet.
Strengths: Lightness, fitting, airflows
Weaknesses: Maybe cost, but you get what you pay for.

Summary: Great looking helmet that doesn't look dorky. Great range of colors and well thought out design, the Bell fitting system is awesome. On the Sweep-R you can adjust the dials very easily with one hand for a perfect fit.
The vents are awesome and even in hot and humid Florida summer days I forget I even have this helmet on during 50 mile rides.
Strengths: Incredibly comfortable (I often forget that I even have the helmet on), fairly light, attractive design, Bell fitting system ensures a snug fit every time.
Weaknesses: Price I guess? $130 MSRP is a bit much for nothing more than some plastic and styrofoam.

Summary: I was training last fall for a very difficult century with a lot of climbing and while on a training ride going down a mountain at 40 plus mph my front tire blew out and I went down hard...broken left collar bone in two pieces and the force of the pavement and my head broke the foam lining in my helmet. This is a great helmet it saved my life and absolutly no headache afterwards!
Strengths: Rock solid
Weaknesses: none

Bike Setup: Specialized Sworks/ ZIPPS 404'S/ FULL DURA -ACE/ ALIEN CARBON SEAT POST / RITCHEY WCS- BAR& STEM
Summary: I was involved in a 10 bike pile up that I could not avoid. Idid try to stop, that was the problem! As I tried to stop, well the bike obeyed! And stop it did, basically catapulting me at 28mph head over heels! I landed 'Head First' backward, unable to put my hands down to break the fall. Well, I had some scrapes but, no broken bones and more importantly..no head trauma! Helmet cracked in several places and basically gave itself up for the rider(me) and for that.. all I will ever use is the Bell Sweep!
Strengths: Style, Aggressive Appeal and Colors match my bike.
Weaknesses: None!
